I can’t believe we are over halfway through July right now, can you? The last six months have flown by, although now that I think about it, the last 13 months have flown by. Here at Paper, Ink, & Passports, I am gearing up for a major August and *fingers crossed* a few fall and winter adventures. So what is going on here? I decided it was time to update you on the latest news from Paper Ink and Passports. Scroll on for more!
Paper, Ink, & Passports, a recap
To quickly recap the last year, I signed my IC contract with Largay Travel in May. I consider August 2017 to be my true start date, though, as it wasn’t until after Travel Week that I booked my first trip. The mentor program, which taught me about being a travel advisor, not just a traveller, lasted six months. From May to November, I learned the ins and outs of advising, incorporated as an LLC, and navigated the nitty-gritty of liability insurance and paperwork.
My first client went to Rome, Italy, where I arranged some tours, three nights at a hotel in Rome, and one night at a beautiful villa in Tuscany. After that, I sent clients to various cities around the US, and then led a very small group to Scotland’s Shetland Islands in January for Up Helly Aa.
Since the winter, I’ve arranged itineraries for Southeast Asia, the Caribbean, and Italy, Paris, & Barcelona.
I also attended two study tours, one in Portugal and one in Spain. These showcased the luxury hotels in Barcelona, highlighted the Douro Valley, and shared the secrets of Lisbon. I spent some time in Dublin, Ireland as well as returned to Italy for a short visit back to Florence.
what’s upcoming at Paper Ink and Passports Travel?
As we steamroll through July, here’s whats upcoming with Paper, Ink, & Passports Travel! Virtuoso Travel Week kicks off in mid-August. I’ll attend this massive “speed-dating-of-travel” event to meet with various suppliers and pick up information on some upcoming client trips.
In September, I’m hoping to get back to the UK for a quick trip to London and Edinburgh. I’d also like to return to Italy, this time to Venice. I’ve been reading several books set in Venice, hence the interest!
My Up Helly Aa group would like to go back, so I’m starting to organise another trip to Scotland in January. We also plan to attend a Burns Supper (January 25) before flying to the islands. If you are interested, please let me know as soon as possible!
I am currently working on keeping my specialty certifications current. These include Tourism New Zealand‘s Gold Specialist, Aussie Specialist, Ireland Specialist, Virtuoso Adventure Travel member, and Vancouver Specialist.
Please hop over to my Facebook page or Instagram for the day to day life, as I try to stay pretty updated over there! If you have questions concerning a potential trip or would like to simply chat more about what I do, please email me to set up a consultation!
