Elegance and modern design meet at the Four Seasons Georgetown Washington DC. Spacious rooms, a spa to make anyone envious, a full size lap pool, and one of the best steakhouses in the city make this an ideal hotel. Add in knowledgeable and friendly staff, a chic wine bar, and a superb location, and you have the elements for one of the best hotels in the nation’s capital.
During a recent stay in Washington DC, I reached out to my sales rep about experiencing the Four Seasons Georgetown and received a complimentary night. As a luxury travel advisor, I am keen to share both my experiences and the hotels I book my clients into. While often I do receive an industry rate for the room, all opinions are my own!
The Four Seasons Georgetown
The Four Seasons Washington DC is located at the eastern edge of Georgetown, right on M Street. It’s proximity to the city centre and to the University means that its one of the best hotels for both business and leisure travellers in DC.
Four Seasons is one of the Virtuoso Preferred Partners. This means that not only are my clients treated like VIPS, they are given perks like complimentary breakfast, spa service credits up to $100, complimentary wifi, and more.
If you are travelling to DC and will not be hiring a car, the Four Seasons can arrange a car service from any one of the area airports. Taxis are also available, but can be expensive. Uber is popular in this area. The DC metro does not run into Georgetown and is therefore difficult for guests with any amount of luggage.
The Rooms
There are 168 guest rooms at this hotel. Rooms at the Four Seasons Washington DC begin with the 385 sqft Deluxe Room. They also feature a Premier Room and and a Grand Premier Room, at 485 to 625 sqft.
There are 58 suites on property, ranging from 600 sqft to 4,000 sqft. Suites include a separate seating area, bathroom with double vanity, and separate shower and bath. Some suites have multiple bathrooms to allow for hosting events or business meetings in the main room.
The Four Seasons Georgetown is a great place for families, since they offer connecting rooms or suites with multiple rooms. When booking with me, I’ll confirm with the hotel prior to your arrival.
Premier rooms and up feature a limestone entryway with coffee/tea facilities, a minibar, and large mirror. They also have a small dressing room, complete with iron and ironing board, a safe, plenty of hangers, plush robes and slippers, and a luggage rack.
All rooms have a seating area and a modern desk with plenty of outlets, including USB outlets. Wifi is complimentary for Virtuoso preferred partners.
Four Seasons Georgetown bathrooms are state of the art. They feature a double vanity, a deep soaking tub, separate shower, and plenty of shelf and counter space for toiletries.
Amenities in the bathroom include beautiful Italian soaps, shampoos, and conditioners. The spa menu is there for your perusal as well, should you choose to indulge in the signature spa services offered by the Four Seasons Georgetown.
The Spa
Four Seasons spas are legendary; the one in Georgetown made Conde Nast’s Top 100 spa list in past years. It is 3500 sqft of indulgence, from the initial descent into the spa to the eight treatment rooms, sauna, and steam rooms. There are a variety of treatments to choose from massages to anti-aging therapies.
The luxurious gym and lap pool are complimentary for guests. So too are the chilled fruit juices and teas in the relaxation room. To book a spa service, you can speak with the concierge upon arrival, call the spa directly, or arrange with me in advance.
Dining at the Four Seasons Georgetown
With a restaurant for every mood, the Four Seasons Georgetown is well equipped to feed every appetite, regardless of time of day.
Seasons
Breakfast at the Four Seasons is served in Seasons, the DC destination for morning people watchers and a discreet list of the who’s who in Washington. During my stay, the man behind me was referred to as “Senator,” although I never got a good look at his face. Men in suits were stationed throughout the restaurant as well, with clear earpieces the only indication that they weren’t casual diners.
All gossip aside, the food is phenomenal! The menu is vast, with options like huevos rancheros alongside Mediterranean omelettes and Eggs Benedict. Lemon Ricotta pancakes are a popular favourite. There is a fresh juice menu, as well as all sorts of coffee, and more.
Seasons hosts a Sunday brunch, with bottomless mimosas. All I can say about that is that I’m disappointed I didn’t experience it!
Eno Wine Bar
Eno Wine Bar is the Four Seasons Georgetown’s chic wine bar. It’s in a separate building from the hotel but only steps from the front door. The menu at this popular Georgetown joint has wines by the glass and bottle as well as a wine flights. The dining menu leans toward appetisers and tapas or flatbreads rather than full meals, but rest assured they are just as hearty.
You can charge meals at Eno back to your room. I enjoyed a glass of bold red and a goat cheese flatbread. The guy next to me had a different flatbread, and it too looked delicious. He assured me it was, so you can’t go wrong with Eno’s menu.
Bourbon Steakhouse
Bourbon Steakhouse tops lists as one of the best steakhouses in the city. As a friend said, “it’s where I go to close deals.” Well. If that doesn’t say it all. Bourbon is a popular spot as well, with the long bar generally packed until late at night, the last of the dinner diners lingering until the streetlights in Georgetown have been on for hours.
Private rooms are available as well.
